    • 2-5/8" wide for 2x2 stud walls with drywall
    • 3-5/8" wide for 2x3 stud walls with drywall
    • 4-5/8" wide for 2x4 stud walls with drywall
    • 5-3/8" wide for 2x4 stud walls with plaster
    • 6-5/8" wide for 2x6 stud walls with drywall
 
  • Door frame adds 1-1/2" to door width
    • Eg. Door width of 30": Overall frame width 31-1/2", requires 32" wide rough opening
 
  • Door frame adds 1-3/8" to door height
    • Eg. Door height of 80": Overall frame height 81-3/8", requires minimum 81-3/4" high rough opening from finished floor surface to rough opening header
